Compassionate Crowns is a charity based pageant program, dedicated to providing children with the opportunity to do more than just "win a crown".

Pekin Winter Wonderland Festivities November 29, 2009 Compassionate Crowns sponsored at tree at the Pekin Park and invited the contestants from the Winter Wonderland Pageant to come out and decorate it before joining us in the Parade.  Special thanks going out to "The Sign Shop" of Pekin for getting our banner done in time for us to carry it in the parade on Sunday afternoon.  Some of the activities included fireworks, carriage rides, caroling, refreshments, balloon making and Santa made an appearance too!   Salvation Army Bell Ringing November 28, 2009 Compassionate Crowns donates 3 hours every year to ring bells for the Salvation Army.  Ringing bells and collecting donations are Candice, Kadryn, Camiryn and Amanda.  This year we were in front of Kmart located on Court St. in Pekin, IL from 11-1. Thank you everyone who came out to make a donation.  We collected $153.64 this year!   Even Miss Joyce joined the festivities while we sang Christmas Carols. Compassionate Crowns Royalty Shaylee and mom (Ina) representing her title while ringing bells in their community. Thank you ladies! Smith Primary School in Pekin on Wed, Aug 19, 2009.  View more photos here: www.compassionatecrowns.org/regional_bts2009.html Congratulations to our royalty: Olivia, Makayla, Gracie, Isabella, Amanda, Tapenga, Kadryn, Camiryn & Heaven Compassionate Crowns 2009 State Pageant Compassionate Crowns raised $2550 for St Jude's Children's Hospital at the 2009 IL State Pageant.  They presented their check live during the telethon on Aug 1, 2009.  The telethon was broadcast on NBC local news channel WEEK 25. Elite Grand Supreme winner was Kelleeann Allison.  Kelleeann received the most donations for St Jude and was crowned Elite Grand Supreme. Special thanks going out to Kadryn's dad for video taping the telethon for us!    Sock Hop for Easter Seals   Compassionate Crowns friends and family held a Sock Hop Pageant on May 17, 2009 for Easter Seals. Friends and Family members also contributed funds for the daughters of Cristel Favre to join us at our pageant. Congratulations to Caleb.  Caleb and his family collected the most donations for Easter Seals to win our Ultimate Grand Supreme title! March of Dimes Fun in the Sun Volunteers raised $630 for the March of Dimes at the Cape Girardeau, MO charity pageant. Funds were raised through entry fees, donations and the sale of bracelets and "little feet". Queen Of Hearts 2009 Items donated at the Queen of Hearts Pageant on Feb 15 were delivered on March 11, 2009 Pictured are Compassionate Crowns Royalty Kadryn H. & Breonna B. along with some of the staff and volunteers from T.A.P.S. Delivering Presents for Christmas 2008 December 21, 2008 Compassionate Crowns helped to sponsor over 50 families this holiday season. Delivering gifts are Heather, Justin, Camiryn, & Kadryn Thank you for braving the cold & wind to help these families in need.  Below is a photo of the trailer we loaded with gifts!  There were so many, they wouldn't all fit in my truck! Sweets for Seniors November 30, 2008 Baking sweets for the UAW Senior Living Center.  An annual event for our pageant family This year Compassionate Crowns made over 200 cookies with the help of our little bakers Marina, Camiryn, Kadryn, & Candice.  Thanks girls! Salvation Army Bell Ringing November 29, 2008 Justin, Jessica, Kadryn, Camiryn and Candice donated their time and collected $85.71 between 11a.m. - 2p.m. Benefit Photo Contest November 2008 Compassionate Crowns raised $150 for Jayla Pendleton.  Jayla was diagnosed with LVH.  Money was raised through an online photo contest and the funds were used for the family to drive back and forth to her hospital in St. Louis, MO for treatment and surgery. Pekin Marigold Parade September 2008 Candice, Jessica, Olivia, Patty B., Tammy B., Marina, Tricia, Camiryn, Patty D., Matt, Dakota, Dylan, Klaire, Rita, Sebastian, Draven, & Roxe all walked the parade route representing Compassionate Crowns for the 2008 Pekin Marigold Festival. Taylorville Parade July 2008 Dakota D. Representing Compassionate Crowns in the Taylorville 4th of July Parade 2008 Dakota also rode in the Stonington Summerfest Parade while representing Compassionate Crowns NADS July 2008 Compassionate Crowns held pageants in Waukegan, Carbondale and Peoria, IL to raise funds for the National Association for Down Syndrome.  Our donation was made to the local chapter of the HOIDSA. Benefit for Tammy Brown May 2008 Compassionate Crowns, in conjunction with family and friends, helped raise funds for Tammy and her children. She was in an accident 12/30/07 and suffered brain damage and partial paralysis. Donations were raised through a photo contest, two regional pageants and a benefit held May 3, 2008 at Goodfellas Pub & Pizza in Pekin, IL.   Delivering Presents for Christmas December 2007  Our pageant families purchased Christmas gifts and helped sponsor families in need for the 2007 holiday season. Sweets for Seniors December 2007 Masquerade Ball Oct 6, 2007 Compassionate Crowns held a Masquerade Ball Oct 6, 2007 Everyone brought a new coat and the coats were donated through Coats for Kids throughout the community.  We collected a total of 19 Coats! The photo above is the cake donated by contestant Kara W. and her family for our Masquerade Party held at the end of the day. St Jude Compassionate Crowns raised $1000 for St Jude Children's Hospital on July 7, 2007 at our Peoria Pageant held at the Holiday Inn City Center. We presented our check during the St. Jude Telethon which aired on local news channel 25 WEEK.
