Compassionate Crowns is a charity based pageant system dedicated to providing children with the opportunity to do more than just “win a crown”

This pageant is being held to help TAPS.  A no kill animal shelter in Pekin. IL
Please bring 3-5 pet items to be donated.  This is our second annual TAPS pageant.

The following is a complete set of rules and instructions.  Please adhere to all rules to the fullest extent.  If you have any questions after reading all rules and information, please feel free to email the director.

Schedule
Registration 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
Pageant begins at 11:00 a.m.

Divisions will be as follows
Girls Divisions:

0-2yrs * 3-4yrs * 5-6yrs * 7-8yrs * 9-11yrs
 12-14yrs * 15 yrs & up
Divisions may be combined with fewer than 5 contestants
Divisions may be split with more than 10 contestants

Age Divisions:  There is no fallback allowed for age divisions.
Please bring proof of age in case it is questioned.

We will award:
1 Grand Supreme
2 Mini-Supremes (0-6 * 7 & up)
1 Overall Most Beautiful/Handsome
1 Overall Personality
7 Beauty Supreme: 1 in each division listed above

Competition Information:
Every contestant will be competing in Beauty Attire.

Beauty:  For this event each contestant will be judged individually on stage.  Judging will be based on facial beauty, personality, fit of attire/age appropriate and overall appeal/first impression.  Contestants can wear flower girl, Sunday best or glitz dresses to compete in Beauty. 

Optional Casual Wear Attire:   Contestants will compete in casual wear attire.  There will be no pro-am, splits or kicks above the knee. 

Optional Swimwear:  Each contestant will compete in a swimsuit.  No string bikinis or thongs.  Swimsuit should be age appropriate and fit well.  Judges are instructed to deduct for inappropriate swimwear.

Optional Outfit of Choice:  Each contestant will be judged individually on stage.  This is outfit can be anything your child chooses to wear on stage EXCEPT pro-am.  NO pro-am moves, removable or tear-a-way clothing, kicks above the knee, splits, & 1 foot must remain on the floor at all times.

Optional Talent: Will be judged on originality, ability for age/age appropriateness, overall appeal/first impression. 

Optional Theme Wear:  This optional is geared for those regional pageants that are themed.  EX: Christmas pageant would be Christmas Attire, Valentine’s Day pageant would be Valentine themed Wear etc....

Optional Natural Photogenic:  For this event each contestants will submit a photo no larger than 8 1/2" X 11" and no smaller than 4 X 6 at registration.  Judging will be based on, facial beauty, clarity, and overall appeal.  Photos should be removed from any framing.

Optional Glitz Photogenic:  For this event each contestants will submit a photo no larger than 8 1/2" X 11" and no smaller than 4 X 6 at registration.  Judging will be based on, facial beauty, clarity, and overall appeal.  Photos should be removed from any framing.

Optional Portfolio:  For this event each contestant will submit a bound photo album with no more than 8 photos no larger than 8 ½” X 11”.  Judging will be based on facial beauty, variety, and overall appeal.

Definition of terms:
Facial beauty
is based on the judges opinion of your child on that day with whatever make-up, hairstyle, and/or attire you decide best suits your child.
Attire should be age appropriate, flattering in color and fit well.  Judges are instructed to deduct for inappropriate attire.
Personality will be judged for all contestants.  This is their demeanor on stage.  They should be happy, excited, and showing their bubbly personality while on stage. 
Overall Appeal/First Impression will be judged on whether or not he/she is ready for the stage when called, appears confident and willing to participate.

Awards: 
Elite Queen:  This title is determined by the total votes collected from the sale of good luck wishes.  All monies raised must be turned in at registration and the contestant raising the most money will be crowned our Elite Queen.  Winner will receive a crown, custom embroidered sash & sash pin.   This is the ONLY title that may be double crowned.  You must raise $150 to be eligible for this award.

Grand Supreme:  This title is determined by the combined Beauty and 2 highest optional scores.  Winner will receive a beautiful crown, monogrammed sash & gift.

Mini-Supreme:  This title is determined by the combined Beauty and 2 highest optional scores.  This title will be awarded after the Grand Supreme title has been awarded.  Winners will receive a beautiful crown, monogrammed sash & gift .

Overall Most Beautiful:  This title will be determined by the facial beauty score ONLY.  You must be entered in this Overall Optional to qualify for awards.  We will award a beautiful crown, sash & gift.  This title will be awarded after all Supreme Titles. 

Overall Titles:  These titles are determined by the Highest Score in each event. You must be entered in each overall separately to be eligible to win awards.  Winners will receive a beautiful crown, sash & gift.

Beauty Division:  This title is determined by only the beauty score in each division.  This title will be pulled after the Grand Supreme, Overall Most Beautiful and Overall titles have been determined.  Winners will receive a beautiful crown, sash, & gift.

Runner-Ups:  This title is determined by the beauty score in each division.  This title is pulled only after all other titles have been awarded.  We will award 2 Runner-ups from each division.  Winners will receive a tiara & gift.

Participant: All contestants will leave with a tiara & gift for participating in the pageant.

Score sheets: Score sheets will not be given out at the pageant.  If you would like your score sheets, please provide a self-addressed, stamped envelope at registration.  Score sheets will not be emailed. 

Line-up: Line up order will be determined by date received of deposit, NOT entry form.  You must send a deposit with your entry to be eligible for line-up.  First deposit received will have first choice in line-up.  Second deposit, second choice in line-up and so on.

Rules and Regulations:

1.     All deposits are non-refundable.   Refunds will only be issued if the pageant is cancelled by the director.  If the pageant is rescheduled and you cannot attend, your deposit will remain good for 1 year to date of the original pageant date.  If for some reason, the director fails to hold another pageant, you will be issued a refund of your original deposit.  Avoid the late fee and enter early!

2.     Any act of poor sportsmanship will result in immediate disqualification.  This includes but is not limited to: bashing (before or after the event), creating a scene or confronting judges.  This will exclude you from any refund and cause your title to be revoked.  Please remember we are all spokespersons for this event. 

3.     All judges decisions are final.

4.     You will have 1 minute on stage for Beauty.

5.     Stage will be in a “T” format with 4 X’s.  Each X will be numbered according.

6.   In the event of a tie the facial beauty score, then the combined beauty score, then the highest optional score will be used to break the tie. All ties will be broken.

7.     Contestants 0-2 must have a chaperone on stage for all events including crowning.  Chaperone's please wear clothing appropriate for stage.  No low cut blouses, low rises jeans or tube tops.  These types of clothing are distracting to the judges and while you are not being judged, it draws the attention of the judge away from your child.

8.  All spectators over the age of 2 must have a door badge.  Door badges are $10.00

9.   In order to reduce costs, everyone is welcome to bring their own camera at this time.

10.  You are responsible for your own guests.  Please be sure they adhere to these rules and regulations as you do not want their behavior to affect your child’s title. 

11.   Early Bird Deadline is Jan 31, 2010.  Anyone entering after Jan 31, 2010 will not receive the early bird discount and will be required to pay a late fee.

12.  No child will leave empty-handed!  Every child will receive a gift and goodie bag just for entering.

13.  Referral discount is $10.00.  Referral cannot have attended a previous Compassionate Crowns pageant and may not be already on my mailing list. 

14.  We must have a minimum of 20 entries to hold each pageant.  If fewer than 20 contestants the director has the option to combine awards or cancel.

15. MOST IMPORTANT ~~  Please be sure your child is on time to stage! One person late will hold up the entire event.  Thank you!

This is a natural to semi-glitz system and all contestants should be aware that Hair and Makeup will be allowed but is NOT expected. This is planned to be a stress free event.
